Production Transport Rates

From £250 Per 12-Hour Production Day.

Film Unit Car works to the rhythm of production, not the clock. We charge by the day, not by the hour, giving your production office one clear line on the budget, one line on the PO and one line on the invoice.

How We Charge

A Day Rate, Not an Hourly Meter

One driver, one vehicle, one full shoot day. The 12 hours run from the driver's call to wrap, and cover pre-calls, unit moves, splits and the wait between them. All rates are exclusive of expenses and VAT.

"From" means exactly that. The final figure depends on the vehicle, the location, the length of the run and how many days you need. Send us the call sheet and we will send back a firm number.

Where the actual starting rate differs by vehicle, this can be adjusted without changing the overall pricing structure. Day rates exclude production-related expenses such as mileage, fuel, parking, tolls, ULEZ/congestion charges, accommodation, per diems and other approved production costs, itemised separately on the invoice.

Overtime

The standard production day is 12 hours. From the 13th hour, overtime is charged at 1.5x the applicable day rate per hour, pre-agreed with the production office.

Multi-Day Productions

For longer productions, block rates can be agreed in advance and held against the production schedule, with the same driver and vehicle wherever possible.

Airport & Talent Transfers

Airport transfers, hotel transfers and standalone talent movements are quoted separately as fixed transfers rather than production day rates. See our airport transfers page for details.

Payment Terms

B2B, On Account, Straightforward

All bookings are B2B, on account, with a purchase order from the production. New productions are set up on a 30-day credit account at the start of the shoot. We invoice in GBP or USD, weekly or at wrap, whichever suits your accounts department.

Our cancellation terms follow the call sheet: a booking cancelled before the call is issued carries no charge, and a booking cancelled after the call is issued is charged in line with our booking terms.

FAQs

Rates FAQs

Film Unit Car rates frequently asked questions
A shoot day is not a fixed length and hourly billing punishes the production every time the unit runs over. A day rate with agreed overtime is the industry standard and easier to budget, approve and reconcile.
