Why London Is Different

London Isn't One Postcode - It's a Logistics Puzzle

A London shoot day can move a unit from a Soho production office to a Greenwich location, a Canary Wharf corporate interior and a Heathrow collection, all before wrap - and every one of those legs sits inside different parking rules, loading restrictions and traffic patterns.

The whole of Greater London has sat inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone since its 2023 expansion, and the separate Congestion Charge still applies across central London on weekdays. Neither is a surprise to us: our fleet is compliant, and any charge your route crosses is already built into your quote.

What actually slows a production down isn't the zones themselves - it's a driver who doesn't know that a Soho street has a loading ban until 7pm, or that the fastest way out of Docklands at wrap avoids the Blackwall Tunnel queue. We brief every driver on the day's specific route, not just the postcode.

Local Knowledge

Every Production Area We Know, From Soho To Stratford

Soho & the West End

Production offices, post houses, agencies and commissioner meetings packed into narrow Zone 1 streets with tight loading bay windows - we schedule around them, not against them.

Central London

Mayfair, Marylebone, Fitzrovia and the South Bank - discreet cast movement through high-footfall streets, hotel forecourts and suspended-bay drop-offs for permitted shoots.

West London

Ealing Studios, Garden Studios and White City, with direct A40/M4 runs out to Heathrow and the Pinewood-Shepperton studio belt.

East London

Three Mills Studios, Hackney Wick and Stratford, with London City Airport minutes away for cast and executive collections.

North London

Camden, Islington and Alexandra Palace locations, positioned for fast A1/M1 runs to the Elstree and Leavesden studio belt in Hertfordshire.

South London

Greenwich, Clapham and Peckham location work, with A3/A23 access toward Gatwick and the Surrey studio corridor.

Canary Wharf

Glass-and-steel backdrops favoured for commercials and corporate shoots, with car park unit bases and DLR-adjacent crew logistics.

Greater London

From Havering to Hillingdon and Bromley to Barnet - every outer borough covered on the same call sheet as a Zone 1 unit.

Airport Transfers

Every Airport We Serve From London For Film Industry and Production

From Heathrow's international arrivals to private jets at Farnborough, we cover every London airport and private aviation terminal, with distance and drive time from central London mapped against your call sheet.

How We Move Productions Through London

Every London booking starts with the route, not the postcode. We check what's running that day - a closure around a permitted shoot, a suspended bay for your own unit, roadworks on the North or South Circular - and brief drivers accordingly, so nobody is finding out about a diversion on the move.

Our fleet runs ULEZ compliant across every vehicle class, and where a route crosses the central London Congestion Charge zone on a weekday, that cost is already folded into your quote - never an invoice surprise after wrap.

For river crossings, that means knowing when the Blackwall Tunnel is the wrong call and the Rotherhithe or a bridge further west saves twenty minutes - small routing decisions that add up to keeping a tight unit base schedule on time.

FAQs

London Production Transport: Frequently Asked Questions

View of Big Ben from a chauffeur car sunroof in London
Do you charge extra for the Congestion Charge or ULEZ?
No. Our fleet is ULEZ compliant and any Congestion Charge your booking crosses is built into the quote, so there's nothing extra to account for on your production's cost report.
How much does production transport cost in London?
London production transport is quoted as a day rate, not an hourly rate. S-Class and Range Rover unit cars start from £250 per 12-hour production day, with V-Class and minibus vehicles from £280 per day - the same rate whether you're booking a weekday, a weekend or a night shoot. Overtime past the 13th hour runs at 1.5x. Airport, hotel and standalone transfers are quoted separately as fixed-price transfers rather than day rates.
Do prices change depending on which part of London the shoot is in?
No. It's one day rate whether you're shooting in Zone 1 or an outer borough, and ULEZ and the Congestion Charge are already folded into the quote - so a Soho unit base and a Havering location cost the same to run.
Do you cover every London borough, or just central London?
Every borough, from Zone 1 production offices to outer boroughs like Havering, Bromley and Hillingdon. We run cast, crew and unit moves across the whole of Greater London daily.
Can you collect cast or crew from Heathrow, City, Gatwick, Stansted or Luton for a London shoot?
Yes. We run meet-and-greet collections from all five London airports plus Battersea Heliport, coordinated directly against your call sheet and hotel or studio drop-off.
Can you manage transport around a street closure or unit base in central London?
Yes. Our drivers are briefed on road closures, suspended bays and unit base locations ahead of the shoot day, and we reroute live as locations teams update access.
Do your drivers know London's production hubs, like Soho or Fitzrovia?
Yes. Our driver base works London productions year-round and knows post houses, production offices and commissioner meetings across Soho, Fitzrovia and the wider West End without needing turn-by-turn directions.
